Week 1: Process writing

          In this writing I am going to talk about what I do to improve my writing and why. I will also give some information about some websites I normally visit to improve my essays.

          To begin with, what I normally do when I have to prepare an esssay is to use a method called "free writing". I start writing a main idea or word; a sentence right after it; and some connectors. For example if the writing is about the advantages of mobile phones, I would write: "Information." which would be the main advantage; then a sentence to explain it: "Mobile phones help you find any kind of information"; and then I would think about a connector such as "furthermore, in addition..."

         Secondly, after writing simple sentences, some possible connectors and sometimes lists of words of vocabulary, I make an outline. People usually do it the other way round, but I have always done the first step before, and then I write the official essay. However, this year I have been taught to make outlines and when I do them I see everything very clear.

         Finally, I write the final version of the writing once I have already put the ideas in order, to make the essay follow an structure. The last step I follow is to look up some words to check if they are spelled properly on wordreference, or I look for the meaning of some others to make sure they mean what I think they mean.

         To conclude, the steps I follow to do my writings are: free writing, make an outline, and check for errors in some websites. Some years ago I used to do the same thing but without using the outline method, which I have realised that is very useful.

Week 14: Colours

In my opinion, this colour attracts the most attention and is associated with strong emotions such as love and anger. Red is said to be used universally to signify danger, power and so on. I agree with the fact that the colours which the article talks about symbolise the different things.                                                        This picture for me represents growth and health, just like the article describes. Green has always had a strong association with peace and is a refreshing colour.  It is said to evoke feelings of abundance and a plentiful environment while providing a restful and secure feeling. Furthermore, blue, the shade of the sea and the sky, is thought to induce calm and convey tranquillity, serenity and peace. Week 25: UNDER THE WEATHER WITH THE WEATHER

Welcome to the weather forecast . Now, let’s see what the weather is like today. In the north of the country it’s very windy and cold . There is a chance of some rain too, so don’t leave home without your umbrella! The temperature is around 10º centigrade . In the east it’s rainy all day today, I’m afraid. There may be a thunderstorm in the afternoon. The temperature is a bit higher, at around 13º. In the west and middle of the country the weather is dry, but cloudy . So no rain for you, but it is quite windy and the temperature is just 10º. The south of the country has the best weather today. It’s cloudy most of the time but sunny this afternoon. The temperature is around 15º. Thick mid and high clouds this morning over the state will begin to lift to the north, with just isolated flurries or sprinkles  possible along and north of Route 6 early this morning.
